Mangoprism is an online publication for emerging writers and veterans who want to try something new.

Mangoprism articles span cultural criticism, personal essays, interviews and reportage. Pieces run every other Tuesday (#MangoTuesday) on a seasonal basis. We pride ourselves on publishing high-level, entertaining, provocative, and original work, while treating writers and other artists with the dignity they deserve.

There has not been a harder time in memory to break into the media world. Newbies find the ladder pulled up higher than ever. Mangoprism is a modest effort to make this world more accessible.

We partner with emerging writers, many of whom have never before been paid for their work—or even received a close edit. And we give veterans the chance to experiment with forms different than those through which they have found professional success.

We do this with a commitment to our founding editorial standard: reading a Mangoprism article must be at least as enjoyable as eating a morsel of mango, the most succulent of fruits.
