We are looking for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>compelling personal essays<\/li><li>cultural criticism<\/li><li>scorching-hot takes<\/li><li>long-form interviews with interesting people<\/li><li>short fiction<\/li><li>dispatches from around the globe\u2026<\/li><li>lively album and book and movie and product reviews<\/li><li>colorful and original&nbsp;<em>reportage<\/em><\/li><li>radical political screeds<\/li><li>unexpected recipes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of April, 2021, we pay at least 10 cents per word\u2014a baseline that we intend to increase as more monthly supporters sign on. <em>Mangoprism <\/em>pieces generally span 750 to 3,000 words, but we bend in either direction in particular cases. The only true standard of publication is that\u00a0<em>reading your piece must be at least as enjoyable as eating a morsel of mango, the most succulent of fruits.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you don&#8217;t know where to begin, see our <a href=\"https:\/\/mangoprism.com\/staging\/5310\/how-to-land-a-pitch\/\">pitch guide<\/a>. Part of our mission is to publish unestablished writers, and we strongly encourage even those who don\u2019t necessarily&nbsp;<em>identify<\/em>&nbsp;as a \u201cwriter\u201d to reach out. We also hope that folks who&nbsp;<em>do&nbsp;<\/em>identify or work as a writer see&nbsp;<em>Mangoprism&nbsp;<\/em>as a place to&nbsp;experiment with different forms than those they are used to.
